Singapore Nanyang Artists Society was founded in 2002. Proposed and urged by pioneer artist Mr Liu Kang, the artists of our society have started numerous series of academic exchanges, seminars, art shows and teaching activities.
15 years has since passed, our artists continue to forge ahead. Many of them have become extraordinary icons in their fields. However, we still hope that our artists remain open-minded and continue striving on with devotion, learning from art masters worldwide and constantly cultivating themselves. We aim to build a third generation of artists, artists with a strong fighting spirit, artists who constantly strive for perfection, artists who will continue the legacy of Nanyang and make the pioneers proud.
Art can not only uplift the mind and spirit, but also develop one’s intelligence, imagination, creativity, visual thinking ability and memory from the age of 0 to 7. As such, we firmly believe that it is our responsibility to cultivate a new generation of artists. Therefore, apart from continually inheriting the fine arts from pioneer masters and creating exceptional products, Nanyang artists are also expected to devote themselves to passing down their knowledge of arts through arts education.
